  2. The administrative process can be scary, especially for people who don’t speak French fluently: we assist you every step of the way
  3. The admission process is selective, with an admission rate of less than 10 %: we help you develop a solid admission strategy, from portfolio creation to interview preparation
  4. Getting into an architecture school requires a lot of word and a good general culture: we teach you everything you need to know thanks to courses tailored to your specific needs

Be careful: getting into a French architecture school can be tricky, here is why!

There are many architecture schools in France

France is home to 23 architecture schools, and each of them has its own specificities. They all have their own programs, their special diplomas, their network and offer different opportunities to students.

Feeling confused when it comes to the French higher education system? That’s okay! We know it’s not that easy!

To sum up, there are different types of architecture schools in France:

  • The public schools, called ENSA (Ecole nationale supérieure d’architecture or Superior national architecture school);
  • The private schools: ESA (Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture – Special School of Architecture) and Confluence, but the latter one delivers a degree that is not recognised by the French government;
  • A public engineering school, INSA Strasbourg, that delivers an Architect Diploma like the ENSAs.

The administrative procedure is long, difficult and scary

The administrative procedure to apply to architecture schools and to obtain a student visa can be lengthy. The process may differ depending on your nationality, your country of residence, your High school Diploma and the school you want to study at.

Are you afraid of missing a deadline or a document? Afraid of making mistakes? Afraid of getting lost in the maze of the French administration?

It is even harder when you are not fluent in French!

The admission process is selective and divided into several steps

In order to apply to an architecture school, whether it is public or private, you’ll have to meet different admission requirements and go through several admission phases:

  • collect all the required documents such as transcripts and recommendation letters;
  • write a personal statement or motivation letter;
  • create a portfolio to show your artistic techniques and visual universe;
  • attend an interview with an admissions committee of the school.

Getting into an architecture school requires a lot of word and a good general culture

It’s true, only the best students can be admitted into architecture schools. You’ll have to work seriously and to show the admissions committee you are truly passionate about architecture.

This can be done through a solid architectural culture and architectural references.
